Where are you from originally?
Mendocino County- Redwood Valley
How did you get to the Alexander Valley? (what were you doing before becoming a grower?)
I applied for an internship which involved many Alexander Valley Ranches which lead me to the Alexander Valley. I was a student studying Viticulture.
How long have you been growing grapes in the Alexander Valley?
I have been growing grapes in Alexander Valley for 11years.
Where are your vineyards located?
Cloverdale, North Geyserville, and South Geyserville as well three other locations.
What’s the best part of being a grower?
Watching the plant life cycle and how it differs slightly each year.
What is your favorite part of harvest?
The energy that surrounds harvest.
What was your ‘A ha’ moment when discovering wine?
I realized early on that working in the vineyards was my calling because it was a career that I could spend a lot of time outdoors.
Which wine varietal do you most enjoy at home?
Cabernet Sauvignon
What do you like to do when you’re not in the vineyard?
Kayaking, camping and hiking.
If you weren’t a winemaker/grower, what would you be?
I think a carpenter since I enjoy building and construction.
